A Homemaker’s Diary

Clay Modeling

without comments

As promised to dear Hubby, here is the entry about our clay modeling the other day.

Hubby brought us to the Gardens because I wanted to find some craft and art items in Art Friend. I spent 2 hours in that art shop alone while Hubby has been working hard taking care of our ever active son. Thanks Hubby for your understanding and patience that day!

So after buying so many things for myself, I thought this modeling clay – Plast-i-clay would be a good idea to buy for the little one. It comes in 10 color, never dries out and priced at RM6.90.

It turned out he still didn’t understand what’s clay modeling is all about..huhu! Luckily, he didn’t eat the clay. Nevertheless we made all these funny figures (or actually Hubby made them..hehe!)

This is a unicorn. Clay modeling is certainly harder than it looks, you know…plus it’s even tougher when there’s someone trying to destruct your figure and grab the clay from your hand..hehe! I thought it will be easy to make out a figure from clay from scratch without having any proper instruction or guide…but I was wrong..huhu!

In the end I only managed to do a 2-D flower while Hubby came out with a lion. Perhaps a thorough research on clay modeling would be useful after this. Anyway, it’s a great excuse to have a child, so that you can enjoy things like this..heh!

A White Gardenia

with 2 comments

Have you ever heard about a flower that is called gardenia?

Here is a white gardenia for you to see.

It is also known as bunga cina. Why? Maybe because it has a strong scent and white in color. You know how Malays simply put easy name on things, animals, plants..haha!

The last time my gardenia bloomed was more than 2 years ago. I saw a few buds coming out, hopefully that buds will make it through this time.

Oh, BTW, gardenia is also considered as one of the famous exotic flowers.

Agar-Agar Kering For Wedding Favors

with one comment

I found this blog that sells agar-agar kering while bloghopping. I thought the owner is doing a good job and feel that I should mention her products here.

If anyone is looking for agar-agar kering for wedding favors, do check out her blog – Adam Shoppe.

Both husband and wife are based in Bukit Mertajam, but they do provide delivery service and courier service for items ordered.

I’m not sure whether they sell samples for people who would like to test before buying in bulk.

I think this is a good alternative for wedding favors especially if you are not keen on packing your own. They can pack those agar-agar kering for you at minimal charge. Not sure when niece #3 is getting married, otherwise this would be a good suggestion for SIL..haha!

The Body Shop Member Sale

with 3 comments

This is a must write entry, even though I am so sleepy at the moment.

I managed to check out the Body Shop outlet nearby my old place around 9pm despite the fact that we have been out the whole day, very tiring indeed..huhu!

Not much choice left at that particular outlet, but I still managed to buy something for myself.

Total damage is RM195. Some with 30% discount like the Moroccan rose shower gel and EDT. They smell almost like Paul Smith Rose perfume and Mark & Spencer Rosa Centifolia shower gel.

Since I have been using the Ginger Scalp Care shampoo for the past one year and the result on my scalp is quite good, I just bought another bottle since it is on 20% (or is it 10%?) discount. Of course for member, you will get an additional 10% after the discounted price.

I also bought the tea tree facial wash for Hubby even though it is not on 50% discount as per my initial expectation. Now I have 4 new bottles of shower gel to use alternately..hehe! And hubby get to use the new bath lily (I already have one bath lily) since it comes together in the red box with the Wild Cherry and Pink Grapefruit shower gel.

For those interested to buy Body Shop products, the member sale will last on Sunday 23rd May, but the normal sale will last till 13th June 2010.

Somehow after coming home, I feel that I should get a better bargain, since in other outlets you get to buy the big bottle of 250ml shower gel in less than RM15..waa..how eh? should I go and check out other outlet tomorrow?..isk!

The Body Shop Sale

without comments

I just checked out some useful blog entries online and I think I have to go and check out the Body Shop sale tomorrow..heh!

Thanks to blog The Zestful One for coming out with this entry : The Body Shop Malaysia 2010 Sale + price list.

I am not really into make up but if there’s any good shower gel, I am into it..heh! And for something that’s below RM20, I will definitely grab one. Just check out her calculation, take this as an example:

Body & Shower Gel – Peach & Raspberry (250ml)

* Retail Price: RM24.90
* Discount : 50%
* Price after discount + 10% members = RM 11.20

With different fragrance to choose from, I could buy a few tubes and they could last me for many months. Eh, for a mom like me, it’s very nice you know, after a long tension day of taking care of the little one, to be able to pamper yourself with shower gel like that.

And the tea tree range is on 50% discount as well..wah wah..my facial cleanser is kind of nak habis ni..should I switch back to tea tree oil cleanser?.hemm..the usual Biotherm cleanser that I am using now costs me RM95 per tube..will think about it in my dream tonight..heh!

But whatever it is, this is really something to look forward this weekend. I will be earning some money tomorrow from my craft class, so I don’t feel bad about spending something for myself..hehe!
