The Garden

Never know that such flower comes equipped with ovary for fertilisation..heh!
The one in the above picture bloomed last month and already wilted. However while watering my garden today, I noticed that there is another new flower stalk coming out…yeay!
I hope I will be able to get the red amaryllis bulb from SIL soon. Kind of bored with the current collection of plants I have in my garden. Would love to take on new challenge of taking care of different kind of plants apart from what I already have despite the fact that every moment I am swamped with the little one..huhu!
Ubi Kayu For Tea
I bought 4 medium chunks of tapioca on Sunday, boiled all of them into ubi rebus and ate with my sambal bilis.
But since I didn’t eat much of the ubi kayu rebus, I kept them in fridge until today (Tuesday).

I think I overcooked the tapioca since they were over mushy. So the best thing and the fastest way to turn them into something edible again is to fry them in oil.
For this recipe, I pounded 4 garlics, rub the tapioca with salt and fry in hot oil.
As I was rushing to take out the fried ubi kayu from the hot pan, the flame from the stove burned my kitchen paper towel..huhu! I was panicked and tried so hard to extinguish the burning paper. I can’t put the plate full of fried ubi kayu in the sink and used running water to douse the flame. What I can do was to blow the fire out..huhu!
Luckily the fire subsided once it reached the part where the paper was soaked in oil from the fried ubi kayu. So much adventure and challenge for trying to come out with ubi kayu goreng for tea..huhu!
I gave some to my neighbor via her Bibik and in return got a container of rendang daging..rezeki!
The Best Book Shelves
Last 2 weeks I forced myself to open up all the boxes containing books and arranged them on the book shelves.

Most of the books (fiction) were bought throughout the years, but many of the non fiction especially books on parenting were bought after I have a baby (the enlightenment of being a mom, I would say!)
I still have problem on how to arrange all the magazines, especially one that I collected for craft and art references.
When we bought the cheapest Flarke book shelves about 3-4 years back from IKEA, I didn’t really pay attention on how much weight each rack could hold. Now that I browse through the latest catalog, I realized that there are a few types that could hold up to 30kg per shelf.

For now I have to distribute the magazines horizontally according to type on each shelve on the right book shelve and waste some space. I wouldn’t stack the whole magazines because it would be difficult to take out one or two issues that I want to refer to in the future. If you noticed in the picture, I still have some space left on the last 2 shelves (in the middle) which means I can buy more books..haha! The left-most book shelve is Hubby’s…but you can’t really see it in the picture above.
Noddy Playing Football
The football season is coming soon. And somehow our son seems to be amused with the ball.

So in the spirit of being a supportive mom, I decided to buy him a real football. Well, the truth is I despise football, and really hate those who watch them for many different reasons – those lunatics are wasting time shouting and feeling emotional just watching games on TV or worse at mamak.
And I haven’t found a single man who gila bola yet at the same time gila-gila rajin bela anak bini, help do house chores, taking care of the children…correct me if I’m wrong but if you know one, please tell me!
So in order not to jinx it, I just give in to our son’s current interest..bukan dia tau pon org main bola for what kan.
It reminded me of the time when I was in primary school, really terpengaruh tgk Moero Attack to the extend of buy the bola tampar and practise kat dinding rumah..yikes! But I think such short fling was way better dari tergila nak masuk Akademi Fantasia, Mentor or whatnot. Nauzubillah, jauhkan la anak ku dari minat ke arah itu..
Son, I rather prefer you to be a computer geek, geologist, surgeon or astronaut..or any other profession yang bermanfaat dunia akhirat dan mendatangkan rezeki yang halal. Please no football or singing..huhu!
A Clock On The Table
I am supposed to write about this particular project a long time ago, but somehow I am stuck with many other (important?) things.
Well, I have done some decoupage on that RM3.90 cheapo IKEA clock. But somehow I don’t feel happy with the outcome.

The thing is I didn’t take out the clock’s long and short hands before I proceed with sealing the motif, so it was kind of hard to adjust the paper napkin. It became all wrinkly and bubbly – the worst that could happened in decoupage..huhu!
I have another 2 more of the same kind of clocks for practise. Err..whatever happened to glass painting? Will have to check whether the Pebeo set is still usable, maybe can do something for balang kuih raya this year..heh!
