A Homemaker’s Diary

It’s Still A Working Day

I know it’s my birthday but when you are running your own business whether it’s freelance or SOHO, there’s no such thing as day off, medical leave, emergency leave..all the leave is unpaid leave. So if you think you love that 14-days free pay, don’t think about running your own business..heh!

Here is the latest collection as per requested by a client for her sister’s wedding in August. I promised her to make the sample about 2 or 3 weeks ago but with insufficient material (and ideas) I only managed to complete it today.

Glad she likes it, now have to wait for the order confirmation. I guess my time off for June is not approved. Who can turn down business when the business is coming after you!

Dental Implant For Hubby

without comments

We went out for my birthday dinner and now Hubby is complaining about his teeth. About a year ago we went to see a dentist and she suggested that root canal will help to alleviate the pain. We went through 1/4 of the procedures but due to some financial glitch we decided not to follow through. After all in my state, the whole procedure costs around RM1k just for the sake of a tooth..huhu..

I’ve been doing some reading and found about dental implants. From what I read it says that dental implants are the most natural replacement for missing teeth. A dental implant is a small metal pin placed inside the jawbone to mimic the root of a tooth.

After going through all the steps, you will end up having something that look and feel like normal teeth. With dental implants you don’t need to have any special cleaning devices and they tend to be easier to eat with than the alternatives such as if you have a bridge or dentures.

Now how do I persuade Hubby to let the dentist place the implant into his jawbone?

APR 0%?

without comments

articles-0apr-vs.jpg

You’ve got the 3 months pay slip after landing your first job and you were so excited to get your first plastic money. Everyone seem to be swiping one during the Mega Sales and you wouldn’t want to be left behind in the credit clique. The credit sales guy offered you 0% APR for the first 12 months but do you know what is APR in the first place and how it will wreck your life slowly but surely..haha!

Wake up to the reality! Don’t immediately sign the form you obtained for Credit Card Offers.

Understand what it is all about before your commit yourself to the burdensome debt. If you can get 0% APR Credit Cards then it is much better except that the 0% wouldn’t last forever.

The deal is only an intro or a teaser for maybe 12 or 15 months. But I found few local credit cards that offer up to 24 months 0% APR on purchases but the normal APR when you signed up for their cards is still 18% in the first place.

Personally having 0% APR is great if you know how to manage it. With the deal, you can avoid interest charges on the new purchase of the 42 inch LCD TV, and if you have other credit card debt you can also transfer your existing credit card balances and pay 0% interest!

This is all true provided that you pay all within the period that the 0% APR deal is still valid. If you can’t manage to pay all within the 12-15 months 0% APR period then just calculate how much interest you have to carry on in your financial lifespan.

Tea To Sleep

with 3 comments

I read about Lavender Tea in OrganicParade.com few weeks ago and I thought I would give it a try. I was having a great problem with my sleeping disorder that time to the extent that sometimes I can’t fall asleep at night at all and have to resort to sleep in the afternoon instead.

Whenever I think about lavender I always think about L’occitane Lavender products or Body Shop Lavender Aromatheraphy. I never imagine the taste of lavender tea in my mouth..huhu..

So I went to a local hypermarket ( I was having a get together dinner with a bunch of friends that night at The Chicken Rice’s Shop) and since there is no such thing as lavender tea on the shelves, I ended up buying this Dilmah camomile tea.

I made a cup that night but still nothing. I was wide awake until 8am the next morning and was asleep at 2pm. Miraculously after 2 weeks my sleeping disorder problem cured itself. In fact I am now a normal morning person. Oh, I didn’t drink the camomile tea again after that night. Must be my aging hormon problem that induce my sleeping problem..haha!
