I Love PayPerPost
I was chatting with an old friend today who is expecting her first child. While resting at home (she’s doing Graduate study at the moment), she spend some of her resting time reading my blog. She asked me whether I get paid when I write the sponsored posts.
She said it came as no surprise if I was paid for writing because that was my talent and passion since high school. Yes, it’s true. I won many writing contests and most of the contributions I sent to local publication did get published but that was like 10 years ago.
Luckily I can polish up my writing skills with more motivation when I was introduced by my husband to PPP early this year. He started writing earlier than me but I was more diligent to see how much I could earn after a month writing for PayPerPost.
My old friend asked further on what kind of company I write the sponsored posts for. I told her that I write sponsored posts mostly for PPP, a well known and reputable company when it comes to blog marketing.
I persuaded her to join PPP as a postie under me (hey, the commission is good) and consider blogging as another source of income. But she said with the coming baby maybe she wouldn’t have time to juggle it all.
I think my first post started in February 2007 and that time my page rank was not so high and the choice of opps was quite limited. Nevertheless I tried my best in writing to do paid posts at least one per blog. (Yes, I do have more than one blog..haha!) On good day and less busy schedule I managed to do maximum posts for each blog.
I have not cashed out any of the money yet because I am aiming to buy a new TV for my bedroom. If I could save another one or two month worth of earnings I might be able to get the LCD TV I’ve been checking at the local store. At the moment I have around USD700++ in my account and more is coming in for last month’s writings.
I have made many blogger friends and it’s really cool. Even before I write sponsored posts I always blog hopping to see what others are writing. Now after 3 months going out with PPP, I think my relationship in terms of blogosphere people is just getting stronger..haha!
Thanks PayPerPost! You have made me a better blogger and a more well-informed person.
Oral Cancer
Now I wonder whether the scary image of oral cancer patient on that box of cigarette is really true or not. Yes, maybe it’s a real picture of a patient, but is it because of smoking?
I’m not taking any side but it just makes me start to think that maybe what we see it’s not what actually is.
I was hanging out after the birthday party at Secret Recipe when I snapped this picture. Those bunch of ladies, they smoke so since I am not a smoker, kinda feel out of place in that sense..haha!
Plus while we were hanging out, there was one loud band playing some outrageous uncool songs in front of the Alamanda fountain and it was so difficult for us to chat, so I ended up taking pictures of the surrounding and this empty box.

You know when you work (employed in real office unlike me in this hot, airless SOHO) and hang out during cigarette break, that 5-10 minutes break, you can actually make great friends with others who smoke and in a way can get to know people from different departments and higher position.
If it takes an oral cancer to get a higher salary, why not! Hopefully you have the power to regenerate your cells before it kills you..haha..( I just watched Heroes Episode 21..haha!)
Do You Drink Tea?
*This post is written for Tea Avenue*
I love tea. Well, maybe because I can’t drink coffee since coffee gives me headache. I’m not sure when this started but I have not been drinking coffee for more than 10 years now. So the only thing that I could grab on when we hang out at Starbucks is their tea.

I have tried most of the available tea in the market, but I think my favourite would always be the normal black tea. I love Green Tea too especially when we go and dine at Japanese restaurant.
During my trip to Japan many, many years ago I had the chance to attend a tea ceremony and I think that cup of tea was the most bitter taste of green tea I have ever tasted. Luckily they gave me some sweet beans delicacy to eat before drinking that tea.
After that experience, I was used to drink green tea. During the 4 days home stay, the Japanese family poured green tea all the time. The children even packed the tea in drink bottles to school. But I think drinking green tea is really good.
Quoted from the website,
“The Zen Book of Tea, written in 1191 AD, claims that green tea lessens the effects of alcohol, increases energy, cures indigestion, improves mental health, and boosts the urinary system.”
No wonder those Japanese kids were so active. The walk from school to home was so tiring for me and yet Noriko walked like a breeze.
And there was one time when I had problem with sleeping and I tried a cup of Chamomile tea. I was doing fine with my sleeping pattern for about a week then with hectic schedule it went back to my night owl timing..haha!

The next kind of tea I would love to try is the Rooibos tea.
Known as the red tea, it is claimed that Rooibos is naturally free of caffeine. It also has low levels of tannins which are found in high concentrations in black tea.
Tannins can limit the absorption of proteins, irons, and some other nutrients. This red tea is also said to have high levels of antioxidants.
Maybe it could help in my aging process. I hate the tiny wrinkles!
A Clean Desk
I wish I could have a desk this clean. But I just can’t help messing up my desk as soon as I declutter it. It’s like I need to make a statement that this desk belongs to me so I have to make some mark on my territory (no, I don’t pee at my computer cum work desk..haha!)

If you wonder how it looks like to be married to a computer geek, have a look at his desk. I think if we could afford it Hubby would love to get an iMac or iBook just to feed on his geeky curiosity. Peace Hubby! haha.. (Oh, I should have taken a more wider picture so that you could see his rack of “servers”…blekk)
I Need New Idea
*This post is written for Coupon Chief*
If only I live in US now and could use this coupon codes offers which will drive me to the brink of mega sales frenzy..haha!

I found few merchants that I would love to spend my money and time doing online shopping such as Home Depot deals and Overstock coupons.
Just imagine having a Laura Ashley Secret Garden Comforter Set at $89.99 after 55% discount..huhu!
I know you might think who will go crazy with sales on comforter set, but I do.
Every time there is some local sales I always have a look at their bedding department even though I have like 2-3 sets still unused..haha!
Who would not want to have such a comfortable and nice looking bed, right? Especially when I spend about 10 hours sleeping daily.

If there is another thing I would go drooling about it is area rug.
Yes, the rug looks tempting especially when they come out with exotic and artistic designs.
I kind of get bored with the local rugs since most of them have flowery and almost typical too oriental design.
Give me something different like the one they have at Home Depot. Plus you get to save 20% on the selection of their area rugs.
Now I know what to expect for my new SOHO cum craft room. A new area rug and perhaps an Arno Black Leather High-Back Tilter Executive Chair would not be too much for a new office..haha!
