A Homemaker’s Diary

I Will Watch This

without comments

If there is one movie aside from Harry Porter that I will watch this year, this is definitely it – Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. I think the only thing that make me want to watch this apart from the storyline (I want to know what happen to Captain Jack Sparrow after last sequel) is the stars in it. I love Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom.

I can’t wait for next weekend. Will have to pre-book the seats from now. Otherwise I have to settle for 3 rows from the front (like last weekend, I was planning to watch Spiderman 3 but all good seats were taken)..huhu!

Access PC At Home?

without comments

*This post is written for RemotePC*

I was out on official business to the city a few months ago and somehow I stumbled on a good place to print business card. Why does it always happen that way when you least expect to go there? huh!

The graphic designer seems to understand what I want on my business card but I have no logo with me at that time. How I wish that I can access my PC at home remotely from his iMac. It would be easier for me to show how the layout should be like and what is actually my preference when it comes to printing my SOHO craft business card.

Nevertheless we did discuss and after I went back home I straight away email him my logo. But it took him more than a week and I was not even happy to see what he came out with.

Since it was hard for me to get to his place again and I don’t think discussion through email suits him, I decided maybe it was not meant to be for me to print my business card yet.

If you are running a business at home with all your necessary data in your home PC, maybe it’s time that you consider subscribing to service like RemotePC.com.

It will allow you to have remote access to the host computer (in this case it should be the home PC) while you are on the road, on vacation or on outstation trip. You might never know when the need arises for certain data in your PC.

If you are in doubt, try their 30 days free trial for RemotePC Basic plan. If you are happy with it, after the free trial is over, you only have to pay $4.95 per month for 1 host.

What I like the most about this is the browser based access to the host computer from anywhere provided there is Internet connection. Currently it runs on Windows Vista, XP, 2000, Windows Server 2003 (Service pack 4 and above).

And don’t worry about the security of your data since all communication between the viewer and the host computer is encrypted using 128-bit RC4/SS.

Wrist Support For Him

with 3 comments

If you use computer and especially mouse most of the time (like I did) it’s time that you consider getting a wrist support to decrease the chance for you to get carpal tunnel syndrome.

I have a friend back then in the office that has to go through a surgery because her carpal tunnel syndrome was so severe. That time I never thought it could be so serious (or maybe I was less hardworking and use less mouse compared to now..haha!)

Sometimes when I have been online for quite a long time (and use a lot of mouse for clicking) I could feel some tingling and numb sensation on my hand.

It’s not really painful but there is some uneasy and tired feeling from your thumb right to the palm area.

So since I value my wrist and my right hand so much I decided it’s best that I invest some amount of money to get a good and funny looking wrist support.

I bought one for Hubby too, mine is a pink and white cow. Will post my cow support picture later.

Oh, check out the symptoms for carpal tunnel syndrome. Who knows you might be at risk!

More Info on Menopause

without comments

*This post is written for MenopauseAtoZ*

I’m sure most of my female readers have not reach menopause age but since we are women we should know a thing or two about this. If you have mom, aunts, cousins or friends who are reaching menopause age, this information would help you understand them better. Check out the main website of MenopauseAtoZ.

It is very normal for women reaching that cycle in life to experience menopause night sweats. But don’t worry as this is not the end of your life. It’s maybe uncomfortable to wake up soaked in your own sweat but this problem could be helped by taking natural herbs and vitamin supplements.

I think it is a very good advice for women reaching menopause to take up exercise regime at least 30 minutes everyday. I also find a new information when I read the article on how evening primrose oil could help give relief to menopause symptoms.

Share this information to other women you know. It’s good to be well informed when it comes to our well-being and personal health.

It’s Time For Break

without comments

I have been cooped up inside the house for almost a week and I decided it’s time that I take a break from my routine (if you consider my time line to complete the orders as a mundane routine..haha!) So today I will go out and watch Spiderman 3..(I wish it’s true but hell, no since I have a client coming on Monday to collect her corsage order..huhu!)

tofucat.jpg

So aside from going to KL today to get some insufficient supply I will have to find ways to keep myself entertain at home while racing after the due date. I will keep my ears open on Astro channels while my hands are busy doing the corsage (I can’t hook my eyes on the TV otherwise my craft wouldn’t be completed)..I know what I will do once I’m over May. Spend the whole day watching TV..haha! (and puke afterwards).

Oh, that cute cat, I bought him for Hubby’s birthday. He’s Tofu, the special Kansai cat from Memory Lane. Read his description. Very much like my Tofu..haha!
