The Autumn Leaves

without comments

I never know that there are so many versions of Autumn Leaves. The more modern one sung by Diana Krall, Eva Cassidy, and even Andrea Bocelli sang it in French. I prefer the one by Nat King Cole compared to Frank Sinatra because Frank sang it too slow…heh! This song reminds me of the time in TKC when the choir girls will usually sing this when there is any farewell. How I miss those happy, carefree day..how time flies and soon I will be hitting 30..huhu!

There’s a new tool in town to those bloggers who are vain enough to know where they stand in the cyberworld..heh! Check out IZEARanks.com to know the influence you have and the rank your blog is on based on actual traffic. If you already know what’s your page rank by Google, your Alexa ranking, Technorati and all, this is your chance to get to know whether you are in the top 100 in IZEARank.

If you have a lot of traffic everyday, maybe you are lucky enough to get extra boost of motivation, what else but money! They are giving away $1000 each week in February to the blog with the #1 RealRank. Sob, sob my blog is far away from the top 100 list otherwise that USD1000 would be great for my long-awaited vacation.

If you are PPP bloggers, the chance is your blog is already in the database. Once the IZEA Toolkit (ITK) has been installed on your blog they have already been calculating your ranks. And the good news are it’s not fixed for the next 2-3 months, and it keeps on changing for the better based on the data they gather from all other blogs everyday. So if you are in 900 rank today, tomorrow you might be at 800 rank. The lower the rank the better your position is.

If you are not one of the PPP posties, then sign up and claim the ownership of your blog and see how far you can be in the battle of real traffic ranking.

The Year Of Rat – 2008

with 15 comments

To all the Chinese out there, Happy Chinese New Year and hopefully the year of Rat will bring more prosperity and peace in our life. It seems that I am not going anywhere this long weekend. For once I am happy because I heard the traffic report from the radio and unluckily for those driving on the highway to the North and to the South as they got stuck in the unmoving traffic for hours.

Hubby is as usual working since the other 2 Chinese guys are on leave. Now he has more than 20 days accumulative annual leave..heh! I’m sure we will find some ways to utilize that leaves..either taking vacation somewhere soon or simply take a break and laze around at home.

As for me, I am struggling to complete the bunga telur orders (I have 3 orders..huhu) which will be collected by the clients end of this month. Then I will be taking a short break until early March…yeay! And this weekend despite the thought that nobody is interested to attend my craft classes, I have a few students coming for bunga dip and decoupage class.

Well, that’s it for now as I have to get back to all those wires, glitters, ribbons and q-dip solution..huhu! Oh, I have finished The Thirteenth Tale, nice story and very unexpected twist of plot, I like…hehe!

Homemakers Need Money?

with 2 comments

disclaimer
ebuzzing

Listen to all homemakers out there, especially those who like to share their opinion and expertise being well rounded in the area of home management, financial operation of the household and so on. This is your chance to flaunt your ebuzzing talent, and not just to burst the bubble of monotonous routine house chore by chatting with next door neighbor but to get money just by buzzing around in your own blog.

It’s so simple as long as you know how to blog well, it shouldn’t be a problem. Easier than thinking of what to cook for dinner tonight, heh! And less tiring than scrubbing the toilet seat.

What you have to do is sign up to ebuzzing and submit your blog. Once your blog(s) have been accepted, you simply have to choose topics, products and services that of your interest and write about it creatively in your blog. And you will be paid once your entry post has been accepted (of course not on the day itself but enough to fill up your purse by the end of the month).

The best part of it for me is the price they pay, imagine getting something like £10 for a 20 minutes brain job. It could be higher than £10 with ebuzzing direct, where you as the blogger can set your own price and let advertisers contact you directly with campaigns. That £10 once converted to my country’s current currency rate would be enough to pay for a week groceries, mind you!

Oh, don’t you worry, they do pay through Paypal once your accumulative amount rises up to £50. That would be like doing 5 articles worth £10 each.  Sound easy? Give it a try!

Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Old Oak Tree -Tony Orlando

without comments

Sorry la you girls for the Korean subtitle in the video clip…heh! I like this version which was sung by Tony Orlando. There are a few more clips sung by Perry Como, Dean Martin but I think the one by Tony Orlando has the power, full of hope that his loves one will tie the yellow ribbon..hehe!

As requested here is the lyrics as well:

“Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree”

(As recorded by Tony Orlando & Dawn)
IRWIN LEVINE
L. RUSSELL BROWN

I’m comin’ home I’ve done my time
Now I’ve got to know what is and isn’t mine
If you received my letter tellin’ you I’d soon be free
Then you’ll know just what to do if you still want me
If you still want me.

Woah tie a yellow ribbon round the ole oak tree
It’s been three long years, do ya still want me
If I don’t see a ribbon round the ole oak tree
I’ll stay on the bus, forget about us
Put the blame on me
If I don’t see a yellow ribbon round the ole oak tree

Bus driver please look for me
‘Cause I couldn’t bear to see what I might see
I’m really still in prison and my love she holds the key
A simple yellow ribbon’s what I need to set me free
I wrote and told her, please

Woah tie a yellow ribbon round the ole oak tree
It’s been three long years do ya still want me
If I don’t see a ribbon round the ole oak tree
I’ll stay on the bus, forget about us
Put the blame on me
If I don’t see a yellow ribbon round the ole oak tree

Now the whole damn bus is cheering
And I can’t believe I see
A hundred yellow ribbons round the ole oak tree

I’m comin home, mmm hmm

Tie a ribbon round the ole oak tree
Tie a ribbon round the ole oak tree
Tie a ribbon round the ole oak tree

Tie a ribbon round the ole oak tree
Tie a ribbon round the ole oak tree
Tie a ribbon round the ole oak tree
