Pasar Ramadhan, Rain & Check Up

without comments

I’ve been out of ideas on words to write for this entry. Started to think before bukak puasa, went for a short nap after berbuka, and now after a quick sahur I’m trying again. It’s 1am in the morning and I have had my share of sahur – no rice for tonight though, just finish up all the kuih muih and murtabak.

We went to pasar ramadhan after the monthly (more to bi-monthly as I am so lazy to see the doc every month) check up today and it was blazing hot. Around 5pm it started to rain. Lucky we went there early or otherwise I have to brave the rain using the waterproof Timberland coat like yesterday. It’s easy to choose the kuih and lauk wearing the rain coat than to bring umbrella..heh!

The pregnancy check up went fine though we have to wait for more than one hour despite the scheduled appointment. I got my shot for tetanus..tak de la sakit but I didn’t expect to get shot today. Another shot is due in one month time, plus the glucose/diabetes test. The gynae said she saw no reason for me not being able to deliver naturally (I asked about the pelvic exam) unless the baby is not engage when the time comes.

I think I better off to bed now as it starts to rain again, and I can’t seem to open my eyes (and stretch my mind further to write more). I didn’t even watch CSI tonight as I feel really sleepy and tired after berbuka puasa…must be the waiting, the heat and then the rain..Oh BTW, the mixer from Bonuslink which I redeemed earlier will be sent tomorrow, so I have to be up early and get ready to get the courier. Boleh la buat kuih and kek raya ek..hehe!

The Long Merdeka Weekend

with 2 comments

Since it’s the long merdeka weekend, we decided to go out on Saturday instead of the Merdeka day itself, konon to avoid the traffic and mass people. But it was wrong as people started to go shopping early..despite that we managed to reach Mid Valley to check out Planète Enfants Mamours Store and Toy “R” Us.

We even went to Jusco to check out Sweet Cherry range of baby cot and stroller. I think we will buy Graco stroller and IKEA baby cot. For infant seat/car seat we still have not found the range that we like, whether to buy a separate infant seat then later buy child car seat or buy the more expensive one which is convertible.

We didn’t buy any of the baby stuff but we bought magazines and book from MPH. I found one great book for card making at discounted price. Then I bought 2 scoops of Baskin Robbins ice cream, didn’t realize that the 31% off offer was already in, no wonder the queue for the ice cream was very long. Not that I am planning to eat one whole tub of ice cream though..heh!

Sunday we didn’t go out. Spent most of the day spring cleaning. Cleared up 2 drawers to put baby clothes. I think we have enough of the newborn clothes so no need for more shopping. Ju called at night asking whether I want to eat laksa..so after dinner at Mamak we went to take the laksa from her place. Spent the whole night watching 2 movies – The Mummy and Wanted.

Around 4:30am we drove to Mc D for sahur but was told their breakfast only start at 5am…ceh..buang karan je. Came back home and made my own scrambled egg.

Monday, first day of puasa I thought of having Ramadhan buffet in Alamanda but Penang Village only start their promotion on 5th Sept. So I cooked rice and around 5:30pm went out to pasar ramadhan. Quite a lot of selection, got my tepung pelita, even cucur udang kuah kacang and lauk pauk.

Overall the long weekend went well. I have a nice, relaxing time with Hubby. The baby stuffs shopping will resume after Hari Raya. The rest of September will be spent leisurely, hopefully.

Babylon A.D, Nasi Kandar Pelita & DVDs..

without comments

We went out yesterday after work. Hubby asked whether I want to watch movie in Sunway..yeay..since Babylon A.D is the latest movie I thought it will be a good idea to watch it..but damn, it was terrible..no strong storyline, makes Vin Diesel look stupid in that movie and the ending was like blekk..apa punya citer la ni..huhu..

But we managed to make it to Tony Roma’s for my teringin-nak-mkn-western craving before the show, I was greedy enough takmo share Full Rack with Hubby, in the end I ate like one rib, Hubby ate 2 and tapau the balance of 3 ribs..heh! Oh, I love their fried mushroom..

Still got around 15 minutes before the show and we went inside Parkson, never know yesterday was their Bonuslink day, got myself 2 more pants and briefs…tengok2 handbag but it’s not really necessary, still couldn’t find any blouse that I like but OK la, janji ada seluar muat nak pakai with my current bulging tummy..then after the movie told Hubby nak makan nasik pulak..

Since we were already in the vicinity of Subang area, Nasi Kandar Pelita at SS15 will be my choice. Actually what I want to do is to check the DVD shop opposite of the restaurant..heh! Got 6 more new DVDs…yeay seronok…I got Wanted, Hancock, The Deception, Mummy, Atonement and can’t remember another one..

Well, that’s it the update for today. I am still contemplating whether to go out or not today..heh! The long weekend started early for me..can’t help feeling all the glow inside…ceh!

The Choice of Raya Cookies..

with 4 comments

I’m done thinking whether to make raya cookies for this year or just to buy..in the end I decided to just buy from the usual seller, my senior from school. At least I know how the cookies taste like so it will save me from the embarrassment – kuih raya tak sedap pon, rupa je cantik, rasa hampeh..bla bla..These days the 50pcs cookies usually cost around RM23-27, but when you calculate all other hidden cost – time, energy, effort spent doing the cookies, I think it is not worth it to make my own raya cookies.

If I were to make my own kuih raya perhaps it will be cornflake madu as it is the easiest and doesn’t test my skill with the dough. Not that Hubby is so fond of eating raya cookies, it’s just an obligation to have some for the celebration and perhaps for Hubby to bring to his office later.

And if I feel like it maybe I can bake a moist choc cake for Hubby to bring to whatever Raya pot luck the office might hold after the festive season. So do you think 5 types of raya cookies will be enough? heh!

The Shopping Bugs Bite Again..

without comments

After a long break from the eBay shopping, I am now being bitten by the shopping bugs again..huhu!

I found this great looking organizer, which I feel like buying (at least I can keep the work-in-progress papers inside), although it won’t fit all my scrapbooking stuffs but still it is an organizer to start with..heh!

Check out the picture.

Plus the same seller has the Making Memories Journaling Book-Noteworthy range that I have been looking for. Talk about saving $$ in combined shipping..hehe!
