A Homemaker’s Diary

Jeng, Jeng, Jeng…

with 2 comments

Somehow I feel happier tonight..not sure whether it’s the beryani that makes my day or just the hormone raging in my head..heh!

I was a bit down after looking at pictures of old friends in Facebook, pictures of them excelling in their career, going everywhere globe trotting, on vacation, wearing great clothes, socializing, you know having and acting every bit of a successful career women..huhu..what do I miss here..wonder where I will be now if I never quit my job years ago..maybe I am a manager, or senior exec by now or whether I am still sane if I keep on working..haha! I was never good when it comes to work pressure, there was time when I fell sick twice a week during the last job I held..huhu! And that’s why Hubby is not very happy with me working full time because he knows it will only kill me in no time.

Despite all, I realize my life now is not that bad either. I can sleep and wake up any time I please (well, for the next few months at least), no need to wake up every morning and drag myself to work. I don’t even have to crack my head to think how to handle the financial situation, what bills to pay with so much that I earn…and no need to drive myself crazy to be too ambitious to get more and earn more. I can choose not to cook or clean and still no one will reprimand my action. Even without the monthly income I can still shop and dine to what we can afford..I should be happy to be in my current state.

So I went upstairs and told Hubby “macam nak beli kasut raya la..” Hubby replied, “OK, nanti kita pegi beli” I went downstairs with smiles in my heart .

It’s not the new shoes that counts (I don’t even need a new pair as we are not going anywhere special) but the assurance that somehow my life is being taken care of, happily and lovingly. I don’t need a career to gauge how much myself is worth of, I am simply happy with me and what I have all these while.

Why Oh Why?

with 4 comments

I seem to be out of ideas on what to do everyday..huhu..with no current project I just feel so bored at home. I can’t be spending the whole day before break fasting time, cooking in the kitchen. I usually spend about 1 hour the most to prepare and cook dinner unless I’m cooking some time consuming dish like rendang which might take more than 1 hour. Like Hubby always says I cook fast..haha!

Even the thought of cleaning up the room downstairs is too tiring (but that must be done by Hari Raya so that whoever coming will have place to solat and even for MIL to stay in during my confinement). I am telling myself I will pack up all those craft items in that room at night after berbuka but once berbuka I just feel really lazy and tired to move my butt from the sofa..heh!

I think I will put my mind and energy to clear up that room this weekend. It’s not much I know, just to clear up the mess on the carpet, on the bed, pack them up nicely, put in those pink boxes, stack the boxes somewhere, vacuum the carpet and when the time comes, change the bedsheet and pillowcase. Why do I always find house cleaning as the last thing for me to do on earth…huhu!

General view states that those who like to cook, hate cleaning, while those who love to clean, hate cooking..heh!

Since there is no fixed schedule for such classes, please leave your details and email through the comment column if you are interested to attend any of the mentioned classes. I will contact you back with more details for the classes that you are interested to join and we can arrange the time and date for your session. For those not working, you are welcomed to join the class during weekdays. I usually limit the participants to 4-5 persons per session.

Usually each class will last about 3 hours and for weekend I only conduct the class in the morning.

I hope those who have contacted me earlier regarding the craft classes in previous months will grab this chance as I will only conduct these classes till end of November 2008. Otherwise you have to wait until next year, most probably after April when I will resume the business again.

What, Where, When…

without comments

This entry is supposedly to be completed yesterday but since I was busy copying picture folders from another PC into this notebook, I decided to postpone it to today.

Today we will going for berbuka puasa with a friend in his new home. I am not cooking anything elaborate since the menu is already beryani gam, murtabak and air tebu. I just made some agar-agar merah for additional dessert for the Iftar. After all there will only be 5 of us, (I guess) since another friend’s wife is away in the US for work. Not sure whether the host has invited other bunch of friends because he usually will not since he kind of prefer an intimate gathering with different gang of friends..heh!

So that solves the problem of what to have for berbuka, where and when we should go out..Oh, yesterday we tried Pasar Ramadhan in Putrajaya and surprisingly the price of the food sold there was more expensive than what we usually pay here.

On average in most stalls, one piece of kuih is sold at 50sen (although there is still certain kuih with 40sen price) compared to 40sen in the pasar ramadhan nearby our house..huhu! And the choices this year were slim compared to last year. I guess we won’t be going to Putrajaya Pasar Ramadhan again after this..I bought vadai and they taste very bland, even Hubby couldn’t finish them for supper..so no choice but to blend my own dhall and make my own vadai soon.

After all I have bought Philips food processor using Jusco vouchers and additional 100++ cash, now I can blend all the rempah easily..hehe! No more multiple round of blending with that small dry mill (which has gone kaput over the last few months)..heh! Very tempted to cook rendang this Raya but not sure whether my strength will be up for it. These days I find it very easy to feel tired and difficult to move and breathe.

Get to go now, I’m off to keep the agar-agar in the fridge. Hopefully it will hardened by 5pm..heh!

Mission Half Accomplished

with one comment

Since my kitchen sink was still full with dirty pot and pans yesterday, we decided that we might as well go out and berbuka outside. The initial plan was to go to Putrajaya pasar ramadhan and see what they have there. But then around 4 something it started to rain and I definitely wouldn’t want to brave the crowd in the heavy rain.

So searching around I felt like trying Ramadhan buffet at Eden Subang Parade. The price is RM45++ per pax and since I wanted to buy baju raya for me I thought it will be good idea to go to Subang Parade. Usually they have a lot of stalls selling baju raya.

Overall the food was OK and there were not so many people in the restaurant. After that we went around Subang Parade trying to find attire like jubah seluar or jubah labuh but it seems that every stalls sell normal baju kurung and baju kebaya.

This morning the Amway dealer called informing that the postnatal set is available but the bengkung is not. So I told her to come later once the whole set is available. Good for me since I can continue sleeping till 1pm..heh!

I went to Maybank again in the afternoon to deposit the syiling and change duit raya. One mission accomplished since the heavy bag of small change worth of RM167++ is now floating in my account. But I was told that I can only change duit raya tomorrow..alah buang karan lagi la…huhu!

Went to Jusco to buy groceries. I even bought lala with the intention to cook and makan puas-puas but once I reached home and cleaned the chicken, terus hilang semangat. I feel really tired, must be with all the standing up at the bank counter, groceries shopping and the afternoon heat.

Told Hubby I won’t be cooking and we went to buy food. Now I just came back from Pasar Ramadhan and it is raining. Alhamdulillah sejuk sikit malam ni 🙂
