Herb Plant, Herbs Garden?

with one comment

jarum7.jpg

My herb plant is blooming, it blooms a lot that sometimes I noticed the leaves wilted due to dehydration. Some people call this plant as Jarum 7, my MIL said if you eat 2 leaves everyday, you can avoid cancer…huhuhu..but when I read the herbs plant article in my usual weekly magazine the same effect can be achieved if you eat Sambung Nyawa plant, and the picture in the article does not show the same picture as Jarum 7 plant I have. Who cares, I dont grow them for the prescription usage. All the herbs plants are grown to fill up my herbs garden, which I dont know when it will be realized..hahaha..maybe in 10 years time.. 😛

Basket Full Of Red Roses

with 2 comments

Since there were some leftover of the sirih leaves, I’ve decided to make full use of it. So instead of using fresh flowers for this sirih junjung arrangement, I used artificial velvet and satin roses in my collection. Furthermore I need to try the weird looking discounted basket I bought on Friday.

I think this arrangement will do if you really dont have enough sirih to make the traditional looking arrangement. Using artificial flowers will have the advantage of no risk of the flowers wilting during the long trip to the wedding. But nothing can beats fresh flowers in such arrangement. Except for it’s not long lasting and once the wedding is over you will be left with empty basket and smelly, rotten flowers and leaves. 🙂

Hand Bouquet For English Theme Wedding

without comments

handbouquet1.jpg

A wedding is due in early June, so at the moment I’m tied with a lot of orders to be completed. And that is only for a client..huhuhu..I have another big order for the Aussie client and that is also looming in my head days and night. Maybe it’s time to outsource menial tasks like doing the ribbons etc to Indon maids..but being a particular and very fussy boss, I think I will re do what they do..hahaha..

I think I will stop taking new orders after June..(or so to say..hehehe..) time to concentrate on classes that I will be conducting starting April. In the mean time, I have many new development plans in my head and my Washi and Yuzen paper is waiting to be sorted out too. I got what I wanted from my friend who came back from Japan last week and I have another bunch of origami papers to collect from another friend. Maybe that one have to wait for her great load of items to arrive. It’s time for my papercraft to start..hehe..

Oh, BTW the picture above, is my hand bouquet for the June wedding. The client rents bridal costume in silver and white theme so I thought the cream and red roses will complement her look on her special day. After all she’s planning to do an English theme wedding.

Last Thursday, a client called and asked whether I do sirih junjung. As a matter of fact, I do accept orders for sirih junjung provided I have the raw materials available.

I thought those Indians who used to sell sirih by the roadside will be selling sirih and flowers as usual, but just as they said, whenever you need something, it will be hard to find one.

So I have to go to KL to get supply on Friday. Along Jalan Masjid India there were few stalls selling flowers and sirih, though there was no sirih Melayu. Even the Chinese florist was using limited sirih for her sirih junjung arrangement.

Luckily my client didn’t have any special request regarding the flowers. I have to buy Indian sirih since that’s the only choice I have. I kind of bought all from the Indian aunty. Instead of 100 pieces I managed to buy 80 but small pieces..huhuhu..

I think I have to continue with my plan to have a herbal garden at the back of my yard soon. Next time I wouldn’t have to go to Kl to get the supply. Of course there are other shops around Puchong, Kajang or Serdang, but hunting for items when time is limited is not a fun job to complete. Furthermore I’m short of few supply for my bunga telur orders too and need to get the ready made bunga kapur, pinang and gambir. This time I tried to do my own bunga pinang and it looks just fine for beginner…hehe!

On Sunday I went to visit a friend who came back from Japan and now I have a new supplier for sirih Melayu. In fact my friend’s FIL promised to get the plants from his friend so that I can grow my own sirih soon…hehehe..networking do help in life and business! 🙂
