I was actually searching for ABC alphabets game when I found this scrabble. I was hoping to find something like I saw on Playhouse Disney. I only saw 1,2,3 plastics toy in Toys R Us but couldn’t find single pieces for alphabets.
I thought this could be a good game for my son to know and learn alphabets. I am never fond of flash card methods. As I am a practical person who learn by understanding how things work in bigger picture, I thought teaching my son alphabets by showing what you can do with it is more interesting rather than learn and memorize what they are one by one…(if you get what I mean).
After all he is now all into Thomas and Friends. I try to incorporate his current interest with learning materials so that he won’t feel that learning is all work and no play..haha! I want to make the learning process fun and not losing his interest too fast. He has a very short attention span (which is normal for toddler below 30 months old) but he is showing great interest to learn new things.
I hope he would be able to read by the time he’s 5. Both of us were early readers, I think as far as I can remember by the time I went to preschool at 5, I was already reading and writing. Hopefully the apple won’t fall far from the tree..hehe!
