Have you you seen personal checks with unique design rather than the usual checks that being given by the local bank when you open a checking account?
In Malaysia it is rare that people use checks to pay for retail purchase, it is either cash or credit cards. I for example only use my personal checks to pay bills and loans to other financial institutions because it saves time and ensure that the bills are paid on time.
