I’m On Drugs!

What will you react and say if someone close to you suddenly confess that she or he is on drugs? And totally addicted to it. I will be in shock of course but I hope I would be able to come out with a good advice and help the person to go back to the right track again.

Just like House said to Wilson in the series House M.D, “I said I was an addict. I didn’t say I had a problem. I pay my bills, I make my meals. I function.” The person might be normal on the surface but inside it’s a turmoil and in the long run it will risk their health.

It’s not as easy to recover as portrayed in TV series (like Lost) and movies. Even if one manages to stop, there is a big chance for relapse. It is always a long road to recovery. From what I read on pain pill addiction help, it is a tricky process to withdraw pain killer drugs such as Vicodin or other harsh drugs like heroin and opiates.

Most people undergo treatment by enrolling to rehab center but if you have the chance to have it at home, your own drug rehab at home, wouldn’t it much easier and very private? You will have the support of your family and friends all the time and you don’t have to be away for 30, 60 or 90 days like in the usual rehab routine.

Suboxone treatment programs are now something that people consider to help those struggling with opiate addiction. Suboxone is actually a combination of two drugs, buprenorphine and naloxone.

Previously, methadone was used to detox off drugs like heroin and other opiates but the problem with methadone, patients had to enroll in inpatient program or pick up their methadone dose daily at the clinic.

Now with the advent of Suboxone treatments, a medical detox is now available at home because patients will be given the prescribed drugs that could be taken confidentially and in the privacy of their own home.
