I love tea. Well, maybe because I can’t drink coffee since coffee gives me headache. I’m not sure when this started but I have not been drinking coffee for more than 10 years now. So the only thing that I could grab on when we hang out at Starbucks is their tea.
I have tried most of the available tea in the market, but I think my favourite would always be the normal black tea. I love Green Tea too especially when we go and dine at Japanese restaurant.
During my trip to Japan many, many years ago I had the chance to attend a tea ceremony and I think that cup of tea was the most bitter taste of green tea I have ever tasted. Luckily they gave me some sweet beans delicacy to eat before drinking that tea.
After that experience, I was used to drink green tea. During the 4 days home stay, the Japanese family poured green tea all the time. The children even packed the tea in drink bottles to school. But I think drinking green tea is really good.
Quoted from the website,
“The Zen Book of Tea, written in 1191 AD, claims that green tea lessens the effects of alcohol, increases energy, cures indigestion, improves mental health, and boosts the urinary system.”
No wonder those Japanese kids were so active. The walk from school to home was so tiring for me and yet Noriko walked like a breeze.
And there was one time when I had problem with sleeping and I tried a cup of Chamomile tea. I was doing fine with my sleeping pattern for about a week then with hectic schedule it went back to my night owl timing..haha!
The next kind of tea I would love to try is the Rooibos tea.
Known as the red tea, it is claimed that Rooibos is naturally free of caffeine. It also has low levels of tannins which are found in high concentrations in black tea.
Tannins can limit the absorption of proteins, irons, and some other nutrients. This red tea is also said to have high levels of antioxidants.
Maybe it could help in my aging process. I hate the tiny wrinkles!
