I Need A Dedicated Server!

For those who wonder why am I talking about server, data center, bla bla this time, for a start I’m not just a mere homemaker. I do know about a little bit of this and that when it comes to network, firewall and stuffs since I have a degree in Computer Engineering. It’s just that I choose to be a homemaker and run a SOHO business that has nothing to do with my qualification (in a way it has some connection since it’s Internet based business).

Since I have my own domain and hosting plan, I have been able to learn more about how this thing works. I hate when my hosting company send email stating that on this date my domain will be down because the company they colocate their servers will be having power outage. I noticed it has been like once a month now. Luckily I’m not running a time sensitive business or else I might as well colocate my own server at the data center.

For those of you who never heard or never seen how a data center looks like, check out this website of Data Center Raleigh.

For a start they have a tight security at the data center. So you wouldn’t have to worry that your $10k server will be stolen at night. When it comes to data center, the usual terms that you might heard will be security, safety, redundancy, reliability, scalability and technology. And Hosted Solutions is a state-of-the-art data center with top-notch security and fully redundant systems.

What I like about them is that they operate 4 Data Centers in 3 key markets, and all are interconnected by a fully redundant private network. So they can ensure 100% connectivity and 100% uptime for each and every client.

I hope they have excellent customer service because the only value that differentiate one business from another is their customer service quality. 🙂 I am sick of having to call the technical support or submit tickets to non-existence answers.

Quoted from their website,

“You’re guaranteed 24×7 local technical support and a real person to talk to. Tired of waiting on hold at your current web host? Talk immediately to Level 3 Engineers that often fix your problem on the phone.”

As if they are reading my mind, haha!
